Events and Socials
Game nights, Christmas celebrations, and spontaneous get-togethers. No skills needed, just eagerness to join in.
Studying computer science isn’t just about lectures, coding assignments, and staring at screens. Balance and community are just as important! The Computer Science Student Association (FIUS) regularly hosts social events for all students.
Board Game Nights
Whether you love strategic board games, fast-paced card games, or fun party games – our game nights have something for everyone.
- Our Board Game Collection: We have a huge selection of games available, including classics like Catan, Carcassonne, Dominion, Wizard, Tichu, Secret Hitler, and Werewolf. You are also highly encouraged to bring your own favorite games!
- When & Where? Game nights take place regularly during the lecture period, always in the evening and usually in the computer science library. Exact dates are announced via our news feed and mailing lists.
- Atmosphere: Completely casual. You don’t need any prior knowledge or a pre-formed group – just drop by, grab a seat at a table, and join the fun.
More Events & Spontaneous Activities
Throughout the semester, we organize other big and small events:
- Seasonal Parties: Every year we host a cozy Christmas celebration for all students.
- Karaoke: Occasionally, we set up the microphones and host fun karaoke nights.
- Spontaneous Get-Togethers: Internally, we often do things spontaneously (e.g., cooking together, gaming, or just hanging out). You are always welcome to join us! Our student association room is always open to everyone, and you can just drop by and take a seat.
Come by, meet new people, and enjoy your time at university!
