Study Plans
Depending on your degree program, you can find your recommended study progression plan in your exam regulations or directly on the Faculty 5 website:
Bachelor’s
- Computer Science (B.Sc.): Mandatory modules, a minor subject, and a Bachelor’s thesis in the 6th semester
- Software Engineering (B.Sc.): Focus on project work and software engineering methods
- Media Informatics (B.Sc.): Combination of computer science and media technology
- AI & Data Science (B.Sc.): Computer science, mathematics, and statistics combined
Master’s
- Computer Science (M.Sc.): Broad selection of electives across all areas of computer science
- Software Engineering (M.Sc.): Advanced study in software architectures, methods, and quality
- Computer Science (English M.Sc.): English-language master’s program focusing on current research topics in computer science
- AI & Data Science (M.Sc.): Advanced study in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

Seminars
Seminars offered by the Computer Science teaching unit are generally open to students of all degree programs within the faculty. Places are usually allocated at the start of the semester via ILIAS or directly with the respective chair.
